France booked their place in the quarter finals of the EURO 2016 after coming from behind to win Ireland with a 2-1 result.It was massive win for the nation to avert the first half scoreline where Ireland was leading 1-0 to their own favor. All thanks to Antoine Griezmann who provided the brace that saw France make it to the last eight of the EURO 2016 tournament.
Ireland opened the scoring with Brady making no mistake to converting from a penalty kick in the opening two minutes, making it the second-quickest goal in the history of the EURO 2016. France fought back by creating some opportunities in the first half but couldn't find the back of the net. France started well in the second half with Antoine Griezmann leveling the scoreline after heading in a Sagna's cross. Griezmann handed the host nation the lead just after 3minutes of scoring the first one after Olivier Giroud provided the assist for the Atletico man who struck neatly to the back of the net.
France created more chances to increase the lead but thanks to the Ireland goalkeeper Randolph who made fine saves to deny france a couple of times.
