Mexico scored two late goals to defeat Uruguay 3-1 in their first match of the Copa America, taking them to the top of Group C table. Mexico got their first goal which is the fastest in COPA America history after Alvaro Pereira heads Guadardo's cross to his own net. Uruguay responded to that minutes later with Diego Godin leveling it up for Uruguay with a header. Rafa Marquez who marked his sixth time appearance at the COPA America for Mexico, gave his team the lead in the 85th minute and Hector Herrera scoring again in the 92nd minute making it 3 for Mexico at full time. Mexico is now topping the group C table and Venezuela who earlier defeated Jamaica 1-0 is sitting at the second place in the table.
